Two Regional Seminars on Access to Finance were held in Brussels in November 2015 and February 2016.

The overall objectives of these seminars were to discuss a forward-looking agenda of the type of reforms needed to enhance financial inclusion for MSMEs in the region and enhance their contribution to job creation. Public policies and instruments play a key role in initiating and advancing these reforms.

Building on an analytical examination of identified financial public policies, mechanisms and instruments for MSMEs at country and regional levels, these seminars came to conclusions and recommendations about the reforms needed in this area. Specifically, the resulting discourse allowed deepening the understanding of the main challenges faced by MSMEs to access finance and developing actionable policies and measures needed to overcome these challenges and to help them grow, be more competitive and create jobs.
